Holly Winter: The Story in You
The Story in You is a motivational program that Holly is taking to the public schools. She is inspiring students from elementary, middle and high schools and helping them recognize their personal stories. Column #164 The Story in You, Pinetop Arizona, will give you a good example of a classroom visit.
WHY? So many children spend their time envying the lives of others, especially the made up stories they see on television and in the movies. What if there were a program to help them see the value of the real life story that is their own?
The Story in You helps students take pride in the reality that is their life.
I know. We all want to do our part to help increase the literacy rate in our students today. (Reading and writing are completely linked. Many students who have trouble reading, have trouble writing. One way to increase reading scores is to light a fire under student's motivation for writing. By writing more, reading scores improve.)
